Tante Lila

Yesterday the Artist spent another afternoon with her German tutor, Tante Lila. They have a tea party and language lesson together every so often. The Quipper and I are grateful for Tante Lila's interest and willingness to work with the Artist to further her knowledge and skills with the German language.

What kinds of things do they do? Sing songs, drink tea, eat goodies, translate letters and other writings, learn vocabulary words, and memorize prayers and bible verses. There are also times when they work together on crafts and when they practice some grammar basics. I'm hoping to have the Artist's help in corresponding with relatives in Germany. Two of my Grandmother's cousins responded to the letters the Artist included in our Christmas cards this past Christmas. We were excited to learn of a new baby girl in the family, making one of my relatives a great, great grandmother! I hope to get addresses for some of the younger generations soon. Perhaps some day the Artist's children will be writing to this new little girl.

That is so beautiful that she takes such an interest in her! We have a woman here who gives that kind of attention to Chris and teaches him piano. It is really such a blessing and instills a real love!

oh that looks lis *so much fun* !!!
last year we all (the whole fam-damily) went to to a conversational french class at the local school. it was right at dinner time though, i had to keep M5 awake by feeding him crackers surreptitiously lol.
i would love to find someone to come and hang out and speak french with us, so my kiddos get a little more than D17's and my pigeon-french attempts!!!
