Poetry and Hymnody

Still during this Easter season I'm pondering and enjoying the beauty of language in a Good Friday hymn. Speaking of the cross...

It makes the coward spirit brave
And nerves the feeble arm for fight;
It takes all terror from the grave
And gilds the bed of death with light.

Great imagery, instructive and beneficial to the soul.

Thank you for reminding us of that beautiful hymn verse. This is the answer to this world's troubles that cause us to tremble and the ultimate trouble that threatens to bury us. But we have strength and life in Christ, the risen One. Alleluia!
